Q: What is Spray Tanning?
A: The body is gently airbrushed with a gentle spray mist, using a UV free sunless tanning solution. The active ingredient in the solution is a colorless sugar, which has been FDA approved for more than 30 years, which naturally darkens the skin. This special formula works by interacting with the natural amino acids in the dead surface cells found in the outermost layer of the skin. This produces a color change, which resembles a UV based tan. As the dead skin cells gradually wear off, the color slowly fades, just like a genuine sun tan. This does not cause damage to the underlying living layers of skin.
Q: Is it safe?
A: The active ingredient DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) has been approved for cosmetic applications for 30 years. Most Sunless and bronzing tanning lotions use DHA. People who have DHA allergies should test their skin first before using.
Q: Will I turn orange or streak?
A: No, you wont. This system is the most advanced sunless-tanning method on the market. Sunless tanning has come a long way from those old days. Streaking will occur if you do not follow the guidelines after your tanning session. No tight fitting clothing, no jeans, crossing of legs can leave an uneven tan. Sweating or getting wet will also cause an uneven tan. Please note that this is not the technicians fault, to have a tan fixed may result in an additional charge. Please follow all guidelines to prevent an uneven tan, we want you happy and mostly we want you to come back to us for your future tan!
Q: How long do I have to wait after my session before I can shower?
A: We recommend that you wait at least 7-8 hours after tanning to give the solution enough time to fully set. Allowing product to develop on skin overnight is ideal. If you shower earlier, you may diminish the intensity of the tan. When you do shower, the initial tan created by the water-soluble bronzer will wash off, but your long-lasting sunless tan will remain.
